Jun Kwon

Jun Kwon is a New Zealand–trained plastic surgeon with advanced post-fellowship training in Australia, South Korea, and the United States. He is a consultant plastic surgeon at Waikato Hospital and provides both public and private plastic surgery services.

Dr Kwon offers a comprehensive range of plastic surgery procedures involving the face, hand, body, and skin. His areas of expertise include rhinoplasty and septoplasty following trauma, eyelid and facial surgery, hand trauma, Dupuytren’s disease, carpal tunnel release, and skin cancer management. He is a Southern Cross–affiliated provider and also works with other insurance companies, including ACC, with a strong focus on delivering accessible, timely, and personalised specialist care to the Franklin region.

In addition to his reconstructive practice, Dr Kwon has trained with leading cosmetic surgeons in Australia, South Korea, and the United States, with a particular interest in facial aesthetic surgery. His cosmetic expertise includes rhinoplasty, facelift surgery, blepharoplasty, and techniques influenced by Korean plastic surgery.

Alongside his private practice, Dr Kwon serves as a consultant plastic surgeon at Waikato Hospital, where he provides cleft and craniofacial services for children with facial differences and is actively involved in training the next generation of New Zealand plastic surgeons.

Dr Kwon is passionate about academic excellence and staying at the forefront of advances in plastic surgery. He has received multiple research awards from the New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Australia and New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society, and the New Zealand Otolaryngology Head and Neck Society.
